After your flight to Frankfurt and an exciting day in Frankfurt, you'll want to get a good night's rest before starting on your journey on the Romantic Highway.
On your second day you drive from Frankfurt to Würzburg.This gorgeous city is called "The Pearl of the Romantic Road," on its vineyard-covered hills you will find castles, baroque church Augustinerkirche, an old stone bridge “Alte Mainbrücke." If your trip is taking place during mid-June, you could attend the Mozart Festival in Würzburg.
Your next destination on the Romantic Highway is Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where you can find timber houses, cobbled streets from medieval past or visit the baroque castle “Schloss Schillingfürst”.
Our next stop is Germany's most mysterious village, Nördlingen. The city dates back to the year 898, and is the only one of three towns in Germany with an intact city wall. Nördlingen was where the final scene of the film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory was filmed.
After a good night sleep, your drive along the scenic Romantic Road will bring you to Augsburg. There you should experience the Dom St. Maria from the 9th century.
After a short drive, you arrive in the beautiful village of Hohenschwangau, where you will find the fairy-tale castle Neuschwanstein and also another castle Hohenschwangau.

Germany - Wine Road Trip
This road trip is perfect for wine lovers where you will find award-winning restaurants through the countryside via the historic German Wine Route. The oldest wine route in the world starts north in Bockenheim and ends south at Schweigen-Rechtenbach on the border to France. Along the road there are plenty of vineyards, stunning views, great restaurants and beautiful medieval towns.

Germany Alpine Road in the Bavaria Region:
Along with the Autobahn and Fairytale Roads, the German Alpine Roads holds a special place in most hearts, specifically because it offers some of the most scenic driving in the world.
Plans for the German Alpine Road were first drawn up by the German Touring Club in 1932. The Alpine Road begins in Lindau at the Bodensee region (Lake Constance close to Switzerland) and ends at Berchtesgaden, a beautiful mountain village close to Salzburg. On your way, you will have lots of sights to discover – you will see twenty-five castles including Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof, twenty-one lakes and sixty-four beautiful mountain villages.

It is part of the European Geopark Network and the worldwide UNESCO Geoparks, which features much diversified landscapes. Discover different epochs and phenomenon from 300 million years of geology. Follow dinosaur tracks, visit Porta Westfalica, learn about the legendary Varus battle and enjoy historical towns and castles.
There are many sights to discover like the open air museum of historic rural living, Hermannsdenkmal – hilltop memorial to a Germanic chieftain, historic Detmold with it's beautiful castle, Externsteine - a site consisting of five enormous rock pillars in northern Germany and has probably been regarded as sacred since prehistoric times.
